Lucille Elsa Roybal-Allard (born June 12, 1941) is an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party, she has served as the U.S. Representative for California's 40th congressional district, serving in Congress since 1993. Her district was numbered as the 33rd from 1993 to 2003 and as the 34th from 2003 to 2013. Born in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles, she is the daughter of Edward R.
